Technology

• Structural fire protection (SFP) in the present sense refers primarily to technical installations and fire protection constructions that are designed to secure the intended functionality of building segments that are classified for technical fire protection purposes, of technical installations for the maintenance of the facility and of the escape and rescue routes in the event of a fire.
• Since many of these products are essential structural components to secure the fire safety of buildings and are therefore subject to supervisory construction approval by the DIBt (German Institute for Construction Technology, Berlin).   

Work of the Association

• Promotion of the interests of the industry and of the social relevance of preventive structural fire protection.
• Representing the joint interests and for common goals of the industry vis-à-vis inspection and certification authorities and in the framework of national and international standardisation.
• Supporting the industry's drive for quality.
• Making a larger specialist audience aware of the need for structural fire protection as a foundation for technical fire protection that builds on this foundation and takes it further in the sense of a "securing" and a "to be secured" component within an efficient and systematic fire protection.
